Kerala State Pollution Control Board has a full-fledged Central Laboratory at Ernakulam,Regional Laboratory at Kozhikode and Laboratories attached to 12 district offices and one at Environmental Surveillance Centre at Udhyogamandal, Eloor.
1. Central Laboratory, Ernakulam
An NABL Accredited Laboratory (Certificate Nos T 2783 and T 2843) equipped with most modern sophisticated instruments for the analysis of water/waste water samples, Stack and Ambient air samples and solids for almost all Environmental parameters and is the referral laboratory of the Board. The major instruments in the laboratory includes

Facilities for analysis of all parameters including pesticides and heavy metals concerned with water, air and solid waste samples are available in the Central Laboratory. Facilities for Bioassay and detection and enumeration of Indicator bacteria – Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform and Fecal Streptococci in water and waste water are also available in the Central Laboratory.
2. Regional Laboratory, Kozhikode
A well equipped laboratory, with sophisticated instruments like Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, UV spectrophotometers etc for the analysis of all regular parameters including heavy metals. Facilities for Bioassay and detection and enumeration of Indicator bacteria – Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform and Fecal Streptococci in water and waste water are also available in the Regional Laboratory.
3. District Level Laboratories
All District offices of the Board have laboratories attached to it. The Environmental Surveillance Centre at Udhyogamandal also has a Laboratory attached to the it. These laboratories have facilities to analyse the general parameters in routine pollution control enforcement by the Board.
